The Army for Nation Building (JKT), is inviting young people who
graduated from secondary education form six in 2024, from all schools in
mainland Tanzania to attend JKT training in accordance with the law.
In line with the call, JKT has set up camps for them to go for
training and they are required to report to camps from 01 to 11 June 2024. Read

Terms of
lawful young man for joining the Army for Nation Building
o Be a citizen
of Tanzania
o Must be
between 18-35 years old
o Must have
completed Form Six and continue
o Be willing to
follow all the military rules that will apply to him while in the military
(Smoking bang, drugs and abortion will be prosecuted and terminated by JKT
o Absenteeism is
unacceptable and the absenteeism offense the contract will be moved forward
o Have good
manners and conduct

National service is a system of either compulsory or voluntary
government service, usually military service. Many young people spent one or
more years in such programmes.
Compulsory military service typically requires all male citizens
to enroll for one or two years, usually at age 18 (later for university-level
students), while voluntary national service requires only three months of basic
military training.
National Service was established on 10th July 1963 emanating
from the ideas of the Father of the Nation, the late President Julius K Nyerere
who once said ” National Service is the demand made by the Nation on youth and
youth response in fulfilling their duty in building the Nation”.
The National Service was
established by the National Service Act to bring together the youths of Tanzania
for the following purpose:
o Work together
in order to build the sense of nationalism.
o Develop
cultural and sociological awareness.
o Provide
skills, build economic independency, and reduce unemployment.
o Train and
develop the youth for national service and assist the government during natural
disasters and calamities.
o Build and
develop the national economy.
o Provide
military training for national defense.
Duration of JKT training always take about three months where
students will be well recruited as Curriculum direct. Above are some of
